2027 Internship – Security Engineer

About the role
Interns work on real problems in QRT's security team, from triage agents for investigations to lab reproduction of new attack techniques. The work also covers vulnerability research, security reviews and automation that helps security assurance scale.
What you will do
- Help build triage agents that support security investigations
- Reproduce emerging attack techniques in a lab to test detections
- Conduct vulnerability research and security reviews with engineering teams
- Build tooling and automation for security assurance
What they ask for
- Penultimate or final-year Bachelor's/Master's student in a STEM field
- Expected grade of 2:1 or above
- Understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, encryption and secure coding
- Python or Bash scripting
- Linux command line and Unix administration fundamentals
- TCP/IP and Ethernet knowledge
- Must be a penultimate or final-year student
Nice to have
- Grafana, Prometheus or PromQL
- Personal projects or open-source contributions
